To install: 1. Unzip vim74os2. Unzip vim74rt. These are not provided here, as they are available from numerous sources, and in fact are quite likely installed on your system already. Needless to say it is provided without warranty. VIM is written by Bram Moolenaar. NOTE: You will need two archives: vim70rt. Go to the directory where you want to put the Vim files.

Unpack the zip archives. Since the directory name includes the version number, it is unlikely that you overwrite existing files. Examples: pkunzip -d vim70os2. Add the directory where vim. The simplest is to add a line to your autoexec. Other files you made. Other version 7. Many new features have been added: multi-level undo, syntax highlighting, command line history, on-line help, spell checking, filename completion, block operations, etc.

All commands are given with normal keyboard characters, so those who can type with ten fingers can work very fast. Additionally, function keys can be defined by the user, and the mouse can be used.

Porting to other systems should not be very difficult. It includes the documentation, syntax files and other files that are used at runtime.
